Outdoors Are For Everyone
The Outdoors Are For Everyone Campaign launches the newest Friends of Killarney Park fund, the Outdoors Are For Everyone Fund (OAFE), dedicated to expanding the accessibility of the outdoors.
The OAFE was created in acknowledgment of the barriers that folks may experience when accessing outdoor recreation spaces. Our goal is to recognize the inclusivity of nature and welcome everyone with diverse lived experiences and identities to enjoy Killarney Provincial Park.
This initiative is an invitation for you to partner with an Organization that is dedicated to funding projects which support the goal and vision of the campaign, and ensuring that everyone is welcome in the Outdoors of Killarney Provincial Park!
Consider partnering with us in keeping Killarney a lovely place for people to be welcomed into as you learn more about our current projects below!

Outdoors Are For Everyone Supported Projects
Big Canoe Program
Projected Start Date: Summer 2025
Friends of Killarney, through the Outdoors Are For Everyone campaign, is hoping to support a NEW program for the Ontario Parks Discovery Team, and we need your help! Following the popularity and interest in the George Lake Canoe Hike program, they would like to offer a Voyageur Canoe experience on Chikanishing Creek to the entrance of Collins Inlet!
Your gift will mean this program can be complementary, eliminating a financial barrier to participation. The program would also provide all the necessary equipment, and eliminate the need for prior paddling knowledge and experience! Outdoors Are For Everyone, and we believe this program will decrease barriers while increasing opportunity.
This program would be thematically rich, allowing the Discovery Team the opportunity to discuss the history of this route, including the original Indigenous name of Killarney, the continued stewardship of Indigenous people in this area, voyageur and fur trade history, and the importance of Georgian Bay.
Will you make a donation to this campaign today to make this invaluable connection to Killarney’s history through shared experience possible?
The program requires the purchase of a Voyageur Style Canoe, life jackets and paddles for participants, and supplies for an equipment storage shed. It is our hope that through FOKP and the Outdoors Are For Everyone campaign we can give $25k to fully fund this program!
By donating to this campaign today, you’ll be providing a unique and hands-on opportunity to experience and learn something new as a group, through an area of the Park that is so rich with knowledge to share!
Whatever amount you give will go a long way to ensure the Outdoors of Killarney Park can be enjoyed by Everyone!
