Ways to Donate to FOKP
There are a few different ways to make a donation to Friends of Killarney Park, whether online, over the phone, in-person at the Outpost, we have made every effort to make stewarding your money as accessible as possible. We've outlined a few different avenues for making a donation below as well as descriptions of our Funds, if you have a preference for your donation's area of support!
Online Giving
Friends of Killarney Park has their own online giving webform platform and software to decrease donation processing fees for our contributors and ensure the timely processing of tax receipts. It is worth noting that online donations will receive tax receipts right away, where as in-person donations will be processed in one batch at the end of the tax year. This online webform is the best way to create a monthly donation, and is linked here or accessible via the button below:
Friends of Killarney Park is also registered with CanadaHelps for those that would prefer to donate through that platform linked here. We wish to note that using our online giving webform does decrease donation processing fees, and increases ease and efficiency for our administartive processes, but we are happy to remain registered for those who would prefer to use this avenue.
Friends of Killarney Park is also registered with a Benevity Causes Portal for any donations made through specific workplace donor plans.
In-Person Giving
Friends of Killarney Park is also equipped to process donations at our Outpost Point of Sale, and will require your personal information to record your donation and have a tax receipt processed for that tax year. It is important to note that tax receipts are processed the January following the tax year and will be sent out via email or snail mail.
Giving over the Phone
Friends of Killarney Park is certainly able to process donations through our point of sale over the phone with our donors if online options are not the most accessible. Over the phone is the second best way to create a monthly donation account with us as we are able to set donors up with a recurring payment via credit card or Bank Transfer. Gift in Kind Donations

Fund Descriptions
Alan J. Hills Research FundThe Alan J. Hills Research Fund was established in 2006 during the Friends' 20th year anniversary celebrations. The Friends research projects originally had been funded through grants, and sponsorships, so the Research Fund was created as a way to continue important research in the Park through Member and Donor contributions. Since Alan started the canoe raffle in 1997 along with the current board, it was decided at that time that all money raised through the annual canoe raffle would go to the AJH Research Fund for research projects. Now, both the canoe raffle funds and the AJH Research Fund support research initiatives in Killarney Provincial Park.
Examples of where these funds have been allocated are: the Acid Lake Recovery project, red-shouldered hawk surveys, and the work that Queens and Laurentian have been doing for many years regarding lake acidification. Gift in Kind FundFOKP has a Gift in Kind Fund to ensure that physical gifts made with a specific purpose get used for that purpose, and that appropriate recognition and thanks are given to each donor. General Donations FundFOKP has a General Donation Fund that exists to fundraise openly for general park projects, ensuring that FOKP funds are available to KPP as need arises. This fund is used for the most pressing and current park projects that KPP presents to FOKP for financial support!

Outdoors are For Everyone FundThe OAFE Fund was created in acknowledgment of the barriers that folks may experience when accessing outdoor recreation spaces. Our goal is to recognize the inclusivity of nature and welcome everyone with diverse lived experiences and identities to enjoy Killarney Provincial Park.
FOKP continues to raise funds for this purpose so that we are ready for the next OAFE Approved Proposed KPP Project, and can financially support it! To see examples of previously funded OAFE Projects click here. |
