2026 Art Show Participants

Ofra Svorai

About the artist:
"After moving to Canada in 1975, I enrolled at Sheridan College School of Design, graduating with honours in 1977. My career as a full-time artist began as I exhibited at numerous art shows and galleries. However, living in a big city for many years served to deepen longing for the outdoors. In 2001, I relocated to a rural area where I could be surrounded by nature once again. My paintings on silk illustrate my love of colour, light, and space. In addition to painting on silk, I paint with oils on paper and canvas. As well, I experiment with woodblock printing on Japanese paper. Over the years, I have received eleven awards for my works."

Ofra has been visiting Killarney Park for the last 36 years, painting mostly Killarney Lakes from interior trips of hers. She will show many original artworks of varying sizes, and also have art print greeting cards available. Check out her previous work on her website or Instagram!

Paul Harpley

About the artist:
"Paul Harpley is a returning artist to the FOKP annual art show and sale on the weekend of the popular Fish Fry weekend in the village of Killarney. In recent years Paul has been privileged to be one of the artist-in-residence instructors at Killarney  Provincial Park for a week each summer. You may have seen Paul sketching the landscape before capturing the light in transparent watercolour. His art supplies were always carefully packed when exploring the interior lakes of Killarney Provincial Park with his family by canoe annually since 1985. As an established Canadian visual artist known for his paintings of nature, landscape and wildlife subjects in watercolour, pencil, acrylic, and mixed media, Paul is also widely recognized as a knowledgeable Ontario naturalist. The FOKP have a selection of Paul's hand-coloured, very limited reproductions at The Outpost for sale in their gift shop. He also illustrated the new trail guide, The Crack, for FOKP in 2025."

Maria E. Gollek

About the artist:
"I aspire to inspire, before I expire. I had a wonderful summer being a part of Killarney Art & Gifts, curator/ artist Gillian Schultze, and have become an active member of the Northern Artists Gallery, Sudbury, ON, Canada.  Art is a journey, an emotional one. I’m inspired by the natural world: rocks, wind, sunlight, moon shadows, water and the trees. Taking these visuals, I inspire myself to create art that elicits an emotional response in myself and the viewer.

Having taken fine art courses throughout high school and university, I expanded into modern cross stitching, always backed up by my photographs. This took me to the USA, Bermuda, England and Australia. But, still the call of the northern Ontario insisted on being heard. From Port Severn on I felt as though I was coming home. Visiting the parks, doing road trips and visiting friends, first on my motorcycle, then in my car accompanied by my dogs.

In 2021 I took the plunge and moved here. Finally, I was home. Community, the land, friends and family embraced me. I could finally breathe. And so, I stepped into a wonderful world, expressing this happiness/love through the threads at my fingertips, adding sparkle and inspiration."

Maria has created art pieces that are a reflection of Killarney and it's water, trees, rocks and skies. These pieces are 7.5x5.5 in. made with silk, cotton, metallic and specialty thread, beads and/or stone chips, and are double matted and framed.

Dani lynn Redgrift-Berthelot

About the artist:
"I cannot remember a time when I did not have a camera with me. I have always loved the outdoors, walking, hiking and exploring. Bringing my camera along feels as natural as the life and scenery I photograph. Photography is my passion. I see the world's natural beauty through a different “lens”, as a series of shots to be captured, framed, and shared. I love doing close-up macro photography, landscapes, reflections, old cars, barns, buildings and bringing them to life by capturing them from different angles and perspectives. To hone my skills I have taken instruction from Stacey Lalonde at Cambrian College, and have attend workshops with Paul Cheviers at Canadore College, Peter Baumgarten on Manitoulin Island, Brian Merry in Chetticamp, and Don Komarechka in Barrie. My work has been published in the Sudbury Northern Life, the North Bay Nugget, and used for the cover of the Sault Ste. Marie, Elliot Lake, and Algoma District Yellow Pages. I was awarded 1 st place in the Digitally Enhanced Photography category at the Massey Museum Art Show in 2016, then in 2017 was awarded 3rd place, while also being awarded 1st, 2nd , and 3rd place in the public choice category the same year.
